Those are very lovely! There are little excerpts from popular French songs from the 18th and 19th centuries on the back. The verses on the first postcard talk about the mother Michel who lost her cat and gets it back in exchange for a rabbit. The second one is about a son who's father owns some nice tobacco. (But maybe you know all this already...) Thank you for sharing them! :)
Thanks for this little piece of fact Marie! I didn't know it at all :D
MOTHER MICHELIMother Michel has lost her catand is shouting by the window to whoever will find it backAnd buddy Lustucru has answered to her : Come on, mother Michel, your cat isn't lost. IIMother Michel has asked him :my cat isn't lost, so you've find it ;And buddy Lustucru has answered to her : If you give a rewad, you'll get it backIIIAnd mother Michel has said to him : deal, if you give back my cat, you'll get a kiss ; And buddy Lustucru, who didn't want it, has said to het : for a rabbit, your cat is sold.
